Director: Gérald Garutti (France)



Gérald Garutti has studied drama (acting, directing) in various Parisian conservatoires, at the Cours Simon and with Enzo Cormann. He has been involved in 22 shows in French or in English, as an director and/or a actor. He also directed three short movies. In English, he recently directed Roberto Zucco (2003) and Richard III (2004) at the ADC Theatre (Cambridge), acclaimed for their originality by audiences and critics in the United Kingdom (Cambridge) and France (Paris, Lyon). Gerald studied Literature, Philosophy and the Humanities, in the renowned École Normale Supérieure, alma mater of such French star intellectuals as Sartre, Foucault and Derrida. He also holds a degree in political science from Sciences-Po and an M.Phil in political thought from the University of Cambridge. He recently published a book on Kafka and Orson Welles (The Trial, Bréal). He currently teaches theatre studies at the University of Paris X.
