Company Coincidence Theatre

The Coincidence Theatre company was created by a group of three friends with a passion for theatre in all of its many dimensions. For the past six years, we have been exploring the very different worlds of Shakespeare (The Taming of the Shrew), Pinter (Short stories), Crimp (The Country), Bond (The Crime of the 21st Century) and Beckett (Krapp's Last Tape). It is an infrastructure that attempts to concentrate common interests and energy. It allows the sharing of a vision. It stages French and English productions in France, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Called “Coincidence”, the company envisages theatre as a series of encounters, fortuitous, calculated or miraculous, that are always timely and serendipitous. The company imagines a community which necessarily implies a plurality of directors, countries, and projects, all weaving in and out of one another. And at the heart of the movement, one foundation emerges: drama as a requirement.
